About Us

Chesterfelt was established in 1978 and remains an independently owned company manufacturing and distributing specialist roofing membranes throughout the UK. The company prides itself on its ability to provide a quality service in an industry where reliability is paramount.

Chesterfelt has developed a comprehensive portfolio of bituminous products for both pour and roll applications, high performance torch applied waterproofing systems and underslating membranes the majority of which are BBA approved.

The company operates from a self-contained manufacturing and warehousing facility in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. This central location provides excellent access to the national road network and maintains high quality service levels to a wide geographical area. Chesterfelt's commitment to quality is demonstrated by approval of ISO 9002 and the award of British Board of Agrément Certificate on a wide range of products . In February 2003 the company was awarded ISO 9001 (2000 Quality Management System).

FLAT ROOFING

The extensive range of products include bituminous waterproofing membranes for flat roofing applications, these specialist products use modified bitumen APP and SBS, which offer added flexibility and longer life. These membranes are used in multilayer systems and are therefore ideal for both new build or refurbishment projects.

PITCHED ROOFING

Chesterfelt also offer a complete range of under slating products for the pitched roofing market, these include traditional bituminised products to BS747 and the new (type HR) underlays which have high water vapour resistance non-breathable and (type LR) low resistance or vapour permeable. These products are now widely used on new build and refurbishment contracts.

SECTIONAL BUILDINGS

Another sector in Chesterfelts' range of waterproofing products is for the shed and sectional building markets, these now include a new range of special tile shingles for summerhouses, portable buildings and holiday homes.

SUMMARY

The roofing industry has experienced many changes and is currently undergoing further developments with more emphasis on energy conservation, heat loss in buildings and fire safety. Chesterfelt are now encompassing these changes, with ongoing product development programmes which will offer the roofing distributor, contractor, and architect specifier more choice and flexibility in the future.
